Fruit: Reddish green pods, with red stems. Large 4-6 inch long, fat pods

Soil Requirements: Well-drained, fertile, moist

Comments: Texas heirloom. Has the good old-fashioned 'Okree' flavor that is a favorite in the hill regions of the south. Good producer and drought tolerant. Continues to produce as long as you keep harvesting as they mature. Large, fat pods made frying okra in a pan an easier task. Even when large, they retain their tender texture. Very attractive plants with reddish orange stems and red pods. Flowers are also ornamental
