Botanical Name: Rubus fruticosus 'A 1960'

Height: Erect, 4 feet.

Spacing: Space 4 to 6 feet apart in the row. Leave 8 to 10 feet between rows.

Depth: Same as nursery.

Spread: 3 - 5 feet.

Sun/Shade: Full sun.

Yield: 4 - 6 quarts- heavy yields, only slightly less than Apache.

Foliage: Deep green foliage.

Blooms: May-June

Fruit: 5 - 6 grams (medium size) black, glossy fruit.

Soil Requirements: Blackberry plants grow best in a well-drained, fertile, slightly acidic, loam soil with moderate water-holding capacity.

Comments: Thornless, erect (self-supporting) floricane (produces fruit on 2nd year stems), highest in a lab measure of ORAC (oxygen radical absorbancy capacity), total phenolics, and 2nd highest for total anthocyanins, -- the healthiest blackberry on the market.
