Gurney's® Primo Jalapeno Hybrid Hot Pepper (Capiscum annuum) will add piquant flavor and dark green or bright red color to your favorite nacho, popper or salsa recipe. These disease-resistant plants produce extra-large, thick-walled peppers. Pick mature fruits when dark green, or let them ripen to a deep red for a gentler heat. Vigorous plants yield up to 60 pounds of spicy peppers per 100-foot row.

Sow hot pepper seeds 1/4 inch deep and one inch apart when starting plants indoors. Place young plants 18 to 24 inches apart with 24 to 36 inches between rows. Peppers need full sun and rich, well-drained soil. You can grow Gurney's Primo jalapeno hybrid hot peppers in hardiness zones 3 to 10. Plants mature in about 70 days.

Use these large jalapenos to add a touch of delicious heat to your favorite southwestern cuisine, or to spice up your favorite dip recipe. You can also pickle jalapenos to preserve them for later use. These aren't sheer heat - they have a great jalapeno flavor. Bring a touch of flavor-filled heat to your table with Gurney's Primo jalapeno hybrid hot peppers.

"THE" Jalapeno to grow!!
Reviewed By: BECKY SUNDERMAN (Batesville, AR)
100% germination; no loss when transplanted, and plants FULL of heavy peppers, excellent for poppers, salsas, and pickling, all season long. A killing frost in October finally did them in, and they were still loaded! If all our vegetables performed like Primo, we'd be thrilled!

best jalapeno
Reviewed By: Kara Bettels (Butler, MO)
I've tried several varieties that are called giant or large jalapeno but this one is the best I've found. It is thick walled and gets 4"- 5 long. This is the only one I will grow in my garden.

Excellent Producers
Reviewed By: Consumer (Albion, Indiana)
I started my plants from seeds. They took the relocation to the garden very well and I did not loose any of the plants. They were very easy to maintain and produced a great deal of peppers! They have a wonderful flavor and have a lot of fire! The plants are also very beautiful.

Awesome results
Reviewed By: Amy (Madrid, Ia)
I have used these seeds the last two years with awesome results. They are the best jalapeno peppers I have ever grown. I was giving them away to the whole neighborhood and still had enough to make canned salsa and eat fresh. They are delicious and grow like crazy. Highly recommend these!
