Holy Cow!
Reviewed By: Laura Shelton (Shelbyville, KY)
I planted four hills with two plants per hill and they have gone CRAZY! It's been six weeks since I planted and there are tons of cantaloupes on the vines and it's still blooming. So far I've counted 40+ little melons with more coming on. Next year I will put them on a trellis. These will definitely be planted every year from here on out. Easy peasy!

WOW
Reviewed By: Jason Jones (New Church, Virginia)
I am into the vertical gardening using the Square foot garden method this year. So, I needed a small cantaloupe for the trellis. I picked the li'l sweet and could not be happier. The wife and son can't eat all that we are producing. We have picked eight so far and there are twelve more growing. This is from two plants. I highly recommend these especially if growing on a trellis.

Best Ever

Great producer with unbelievable taste! I've tried many times to grow melons. The vine either withered away from heat before the fruit was ready, or the melon would taste watery.

Favorite part of garden
Reviewed By: Brandon (Taylor, MI)
I was a first time small backyard gardener in 2008 and these cantaloupes were my favorite plants. I made quite a few mistakes (transplanted too early without outdoor hardening, not having fence or something to vine up at first, misjudging how the sun would progress through the garden etc.)but still ended up with some quality product from these. Not to be at the mercy of noobness this year, I germinated many of these already this year, all of which from the abundance of seeds from last years fruit. They are doing wonderful in my indoor grow box (simple 3 45watt fluorescent setup)and on south facing window sills. The plan is giving started plants away as gifts to all my friends who are suddenly interested in small gardens of their own! Also I plan on clearing another large portion of my yard nearly exclusively for this wonderful fruit. Oh how I look forward to enjoying these very early in the season to the end of harvest.

Perfect for two
Reviewed By: M ark (Miles City, Montana)
I started growing these 3 years ago. I plant 2 or 3 plants every 4 or 5 days for about 3 weeks to stretch out the harvest. Great flavor and a perfect size for my wife and I! We pick one and eat it. No left overs. It's hard to buy a cantalope at the store. These are so much better.

Wonderful!
Reviewed By: Susie (Charleston, WV)
I was so glad I had planted Li'l Sweets. There wasn't a descent melon in the store that year. Now I am spoiled and nothing tastes as good. We have a short growing season in WV but due to time constraints, still planted them directly in the soil the first year. I harvested at least 5 melons a week for several weeks from just four plants which produced right up until harvest. Had to give them away. Neighbors were delighted. This year I am starting my plants inside so I can enjoy them longer.

Fun to grow for the kids
Reviewed By: Pat (Sacramento, CA)
"This was my first attempt growing melons. I grew this from a seed in an 18"" pot, and it did wonderfully. The beautiful vine grew up my nicely on my metal fence, and we got about a dozen super sweet cantelopes. The kids had a blast growing these. The only negative is that all the fruit ripens at once, so plan to eat fast and share these with your friends! "

Excellant Taste!
Reviewed By: Thomas Bodine (Arab, Alabama)
Gurney's Li'l Sweet Cantaloupe was my choice for my small garden in 2007. The mouth-watering sweet taste of this excellent melon was the rave at a luncheon of all that were able to get a taste of it. Everyone wanted seeds for their next garden. Plans are underway for next year's planting by me.
