Healthy Plants
Reviewed By: J. Jones (Lawndale, NC)
First time growing strawberries in North Carolina. Ordered Earliglow as a variety recommended by county extension office. Ordered 25 plants, received 26. Planted all 26 dormant bare roots and less than a week later all 26 had emerged from dormancy and looked wonderful. I recommend buying your plants from Gurneys.

Tastes Like Wild Berries
Reviewed By: Mickey Hunt (Asheville, North Carolina)
Weve have been extremely pleased with the Earliglow over the past four years in our home/market garden. The first fruit is ripe by mid-May here in the Appalachians at about 2,500 feet elevation. People have told me this is the best strawberry they have ever tasted, close to that in sweetness and intensity to the wild berry. They tend to be small, compared to other varieties, but theyre not too small, and the flavor more than makes up for their size. This year we are expanding to include other varieties, but Ill be sure to transplant some Earligrows into the new beds. (Tip: With all strawberries, make sure the ground is not too wet.) One last thought: We ordered 50 plants and when they arrived, there were about 100 and they all survived.
