You'll want to stake the 3- to 4-ft. stems to help them manage the weight of the flowers. Creates an outstanding late-summer show—in nearly continuous bloom from August until frost. Bareroot. Dinnerplate Dahlia Mix Product Details

Botanical Name: Dahllia

Height: 3 - 4 feet.

Spacing: 2 - 3 feet.

Depth: Plant tubers with 2 inches of soil covering top.

Spread: 18 - 24 inches.

Sun/Shade: Full sun.

Color: Mix of colors.

Foliage: Mid-green, pinnate leaves with oval leaflets.

Blooms: Mid-Summer onwards.

Form: Tender tuber.

Flower Form: Large, full, double flowers up to 10 inches across. Decorative type without a central disk. Not fragrant.

Soil Requirements: Well-drained, humus enriched soil for best performance.

Growth Rate: Fast growth rate once established.

Pruning: After flowering, remove spent flower heads to encourage more blooms and to create a more bushy plant.

Comments: Mix of vibrant colors. Blooms are an astounding 10 inches across. As large as dinner plates! Some may require staking because of large bloom size, but the spectacular blooms are worth it! Great for large decorative containers on the deck or patio. They just keep blooming all Summer until frost. Also long lasting as cut flowers.
