This improved cultivar was developed to grow better in cold climates while still maintaining its beautiful form. Easy-care and drought-resistant.Grows 25-35 ft. tall with a 35-ft. spread and is covered in airy pink blooms in early summer. Bareroot. Zones 5b-10. 2-3ft.

Cold-Hardy Mimosa Product Details

Botanical Name: Albizia julibrissin 'E H WILSON'

Height: 25 - 35 feet.

Spacing: 30 - 40 feet.

Depth: Same as nursery.

Spread: 35 feet.

Sun/Shade: Full sun.

Color: Light to deep pink flowers.

Foliage: Lacy fern-like, dark green foliage.

Blooms: Mid-Summer.

Fruit: 5 - 7 inch long and less than 1 inch wide. Thin flat grey-brown strap-like legume pods maturing in September - October.

Form: Deciduous perennial. Vase shape.

Flower Form: Dense fluffy clusters made up of individual silky threads.

Soil Requirements: Well-drained normal to dry soil. Tolerates alkalinity and poor soils.

Growth Rate: Fast growth rate.

Pruning: Hard pruning in Winter or early Spring. Trimming can be done once or twice through the Summer.

Comments: A superior variety compared to 'traditional' Mimosa, cold hardy down to -15, and grows better in cold climates while still maintaining beautiful pink silk blooms and fast growing characteristics. Far more cold tolerant and resistant to freeze damage.
