OUT-PRODUCES CHEROKEE PURPLE
Reviewed By: Sylvester017 (Los Angeles County, CA)
Planted Cherokee Purple and Black Krim in the same garden bed at the same time as seedlings. Both had the same drip system and same soil and both produced identical looking fruit. However, Black Krim outproduced Cherokee Purple so going only with Black Krim THIS time. Both are good but Krim produced more.

Wonderful taste
Reviewed By: kblaisdell (Bedford, KY)
These are not the lowest maintenance tomato I've ever grown but they're worth it. They have a very strong flavor and really add to pasta sauces, catsups, etc. when I can get to them before my husband eats them all raw.

Arrived in a dried box

Beware the grafted plants may not survive being shipped to your house. Tomatoe plant arrived shriveled in a dry small box. They will not replace the plant just give you store credit.

Black Krim and H2O
Reviewed By: Roger (Billerica, MA)
The Black Krim is a great tomato, but over watering creates problems. Drip irrigation only when the leaves start to wilt. An application of Bordeaux mixture if leaves start to spot yellow will prevent the spread of fungus if over watered.

Takes a while to ripen
Reviewed By: Rookie Gardener (Buford, GA)
Love the taste of this tomato and how well it's done in GA heat. I am growing Romas, Black Krimms and Black Velvets this summer and tomato hornworms decided to only attack the Black Krimms - probably because they are the tastiest! LOL They take quite a while to ripen on the vine, but are definitely worth growing in the home garden. Next year will try to grow these and Cherokee Purple side by side to compare the flavor.

Great Tomato
Reviewed By: Fred (Boise, Idaho)
I have grown these tomatoes for the past 3 years and haven't been disappointed yet. The dark sweet fruits are great for sauces, slicing, and juicing. If you have knowledge of organic gardening you shouldn't have to worry about keeping away bugs or disease.

heiloom tomato
Reviewed By: Amy (BC, Iowa)
Gurney's was great as always, but this tomato is one that I will never plant again! The bugs loved it, I had to put pesticide on them an order to get an edible crop, Out of all the plants I planted not a single good looking tomato. they would crack even when small, and did not ripen very fast and when they did the top half would stay green. I will give heilooms in general another chance but not this one. I was very disappointed in this heiloom variety.
