Getting it together

After attending a local talk on container vegetable gardening, a friend told me about this bean pole idea. She had grow buckets using this on her concrete patio. My box arrived with poles sticking out, but with all the parts. Very minimal instructions, and I figured it out. I ran out of string, as I doubled the loops, so added more. The poles and bases are heavy duty. I planted my beans, watered, and looking forward to harvest.

I purchased 2 3 years ago and another shortly thereafter. I couldn't be happier! Such a space saver. Glad to read about the netting being used. Will have to try it.
good tower poor packaging

I purchased two of these towers in march, when they arrived the box was torn and the poles were hanging out, someone in shipping had taped them up. All the parts were there. After I set them up and evaluated them I decided to get another one, this time the box was torn and one of the poles were missing. The towers appear very good but the shipper needs to rework the packaging.
Could be better.

I had trouble stabilizing the central support pole. I ended up pounding it into the ground beneath my raised bed with a rubber mallet. There were no assembly instructions and it isn't obvious how the top pieces & cotter pins are intended to work. You have to provide your own stakes or ground staples. I didn't know how much string was included so I divided it into eight parts and that worked out OK for 16 vines. I planted alderman peas.

This tower is very well made. The 5x8 trellis netting (ourchased separately) also fits it very well using zip ties to attach the trellis. Wished I had bought these years ago!

I used this last year for pole beans and it was simple to put up, easy to take down. Lots of room for lots of bean plants, and harvesting was easy. Well worth it if you like pole beans. Would make a great frame for flowering vines as well!
I love it!

I have used this tower for 3 seasons and the beans stay clean and grow large without bugs and blight. It is so easy to pick the beans without searching through the plant and stooping over. It really saves space in my garden too!

The bean tower is a great value for the money. It is very solid and durable. I only ordered one thinking I could make something similar less expensive, but I was surprised by the thickness and strength that it is designed with. I am ordering 3 more today!!

I have several of these. They're easy to set up, take down, or move. After a year or two, you'll want to re-string -- also easy to do. I grow my sugar snap peas here, and as soon as they're done, I plant my runner beans. Also regular pole beans. They all do well. These towers support quite a bit of weight.

The bean tower is fantastic! I like that it takes up so little room and is much easier to assemble than other ways I have tried to grow beans. I am getting ready to buy a second one.
