Sweet Fragrance on Compact Plant

Everything you want from a shrub — beautiful lavender blooms, powerful fragrance, and easy care. This little beauty stays nice and compact — perfect for a front perennial border, along a walkway, or even in containers. Trumpet shaped blooms begin in early summer and last till fall. Grows 15-28 in. tall and prefers full sun to part shade. Potted. Zones 5-8.

Baby Lilac Shrub Product Details

Botanical Name: Leptodermis oblonga

Height: 15" - 18".

Spacing: 18" - 24".

Depth: Plant at same depth as in shipping pot.

Spread: 18" - 24".

Sun/Shade: Full sun to partial shade.

Color: Soft violet purple blossoms.

Foliage: Petite, ovate leaves opposite on the stems.

Blooms: Summer onward.

Flower Form: Bloom clusters of small trumpets.

Soil Requirements: Moderately fertile, well-drained, slightly moist soil.

Comments: Little known petite shrub, but sure to become very popular. Color, fragrance and no maintenance! It stays nice and compact, perfect for a front perennial border, along a walkway or driveway. The clusters of small trumpet shaped violet purple blooms begin in early Summer and keep going until Fall. The blooms have a light sweet fragrance similar to Syringa Lilacs. The compact growth habit makes them ideal for a patio container planting as well. These great small shrubs grow slowly through suckers but are not the slightest bit invasive.
