Out of Season Atlas Asparagus

Atlas Asparagus

Spears stay tender when temperatures get hot!

Bred to stay tight and tender at high temperatures, so Southern gardeners can let spears grow to harvest at 8–9" tall. Since heat doesn't cause Atlas to open early, the spears stay tender as they develop to larger, plumper sizes. Tolerant to Fusarium, rust, and cercospora foliar diseases; free of Asparagus Virus II. One of the earliest spring harvest times. Due to winter injury, Atlas is not recommended for the northern half of grow zone 6 or farther north. 20–50% higher yield than UC 157 (the first heat tolerant variety). Size: Medium.
  • Zone 6b - 9 Due to winter injury, Atlas is not recommended for the northern half of grow zone 6 or farther north.
  • Height 4 - 5 feet ferns
  • Shade Required Full sun to partial shade.
