Attracts Droves of Butterflies

Blossoms when most shrubs have finished flowering for the season—late summer—for a welcome flush of color. Arching sprays of foliage frame clusters of sweetly fragrant flowers that resemble lilacs. Perfume attracts droves of butterflies—that's exactly how this beauty got its name! At 6-10 ft., it makes a supremely colorful lot line screen. Prefers full to partial sun. Potted plants. Zones 5-9.
This plant attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

Zones: 5 - 9.
Height: 6' - 8'.
Shade Requirement: Full sun to partial shade.

Pleased with the plant
Reviewed By: sue (Norfolk, VA)
We bought several of these at the beginning of summer from Gurney's. We knew they would be small on arrival, twig sized. While waiting for these to arrive we bought several established plants from a nearby nursery. These were larger and already had flowers. The Gurney's bicolor bush outperformed all of them. The bushes have been loaded with blooms and the bushes are now about 4 ft. high. The colors are lovely. The individual flowers gradually bloom out, changing color along the way. Easy keeper. Loved by the butterflies. This one is a keeper.

"Simply wow. This plant went from a small 10"" skinny starter that we received to a thriving 3' tall bush in the same summer that we planted it. It is doing great, would not have believed it if I didn't see it."

I purchased this bush to add color to my front landscaping. When I received it, it seemed a little on the small side. Now, just a few months later, it has almost doubled in size!!! Well worth your money!!!

Stunning Display
Reviewed By: Judy Goodson (Maryville, Tennessee)
"I saw one of these magnificent bushes for the first time today in front of our local bowling alley. It was so tall it almost reached the eaves of the roof - and the blooms were visible way across to the parking lot of the restaurant I was coming out of. I had to find out what those gorgeous flowers were, so I drove over there. The fragrance was lovely - not too strong or sweet, and the colors started at the bottom with the darkest lavender, then went to rose and then to peach, and at the top they were still pale. Each flower stalk was at least 10-12"" long. I NEED one of these plants!!!"

Come on Butterflys

I've been wanting to attract Hummingbirds and Butterflys for years and finally got the courage to jump in and I got 4 of them. I received them early April and repoted them asap. I planted them outside 2 weeks ago and they're growing so fast! I've been a customer of Gurneys for 15 yrs. and have rarely been disappointed with their products.

I got this plant in late Feb, and went ahead and planted it. It sat there, green for a month, before I noticed a new leaf. Now its 2 months later, and it's finally growing, I'd say I have 6 in of new growth, and am really looking fwd to seeing some blooms later this season!

Butterfly Delight
Reviewed By: Diana (Ozone Park, NY)
"I bought 2 of these plants and I'm happy I did. They were planted for my daughter who is now 2 and enjoys sitting outside watching the butterflies ""smelling the flowers."" One plant is roughly 8 ft and the other 6ft. Since planting, we haven't had much snow here and last year I didn't cut them down. They stayed green all winter long which was neat. We really like the continuous bloom of this plant and if I had more garden space, I'd buy more."
