I bought 6 canes in 2008 and planted them in early spring. I was very surprised to get berries that fall! I didn't mow them back, and they are full of berries and expanding. I hope in the next couple of years to have a long "hedge" along my back fence. Thankfully, the birds cannot seem to keep up with them and I get a nice share for myself.
