type, bright gold fruits are 15-27 in. and
weigh 30 lbs. or more. Will hold up to 8 months

Product Details
Zones: Will grow in zones that have enough frost free days for it to ripen (140) Spacing: plant in hills about 6 ft apart Depth: 1" (see planting instruction sheet above) Sun/Shade: full sun Days To Maturity: 140 days. This squash must be started as early as possible. Because it is so large, it takes the full 140 days to mature. See the sheet above if you have some squash that did not have time to ripen before frost. Color: bright gold fruits

Enormous butternut type, bright gold fruits are 15-27 in. and weigh 30 lbs. or more. Comments: Argonaut's plant is a vine like in its habit with a strong canopy and very vigorous. The fruit is cylindrical in shape and bright gold in color with a hard, tough rind which has a smooth texture with sutures. Argonaut's interior is a medium orange color with a very sweet flavor and excellent meaty texture. Suitable for the home garden this variety has a long shelf life and a small seed cavity on the blossom end. Under proper condition this squash will store up to 8 months. I picked some that weren't ripe (due to the 140-150 days maturitiy) and we have been eating them all winter. I still have one remaining that I picked in October and it is just about 100% orange now. Its sweeter than acorn, smoother than butter cup. I cut it into 1" cubes and roast them in the oven with carrots potatoes and parsnip.
