A Longtime Flavor Favorite

Firm texture and rich color of “the good old days.” Seeds develop slowly, so the 6- to 6 1/2-in. pods stay smooth. Matures its large crop early and all at once. 58 DAYS.

Seed counts: A 2-oz. packet of snap bean seeds (bush and pole) contains about 150 seeds and sows a 25-ft. row. A 2-oz. packet of lima bean seeds (bush and pole) contains about 50 seeds and sows a 15-ft row.

This item ships at the proper planting time for your region in both spring and fall.
If the current shipping season is closed, your order will ship at the proper time in the next season.

Product Details
Zones: 3 - 9 annual
Height: 12-22 inches.
Spacing: Sow 1 inch apart, thin plants to 2-3 inches apart, 24-36 inches between rows.
Depth: 1-1.5 inches
Spread: Vine
Sun/Shade: Full sun
Germination: 6-10 days
Days To Maturity: 58
Yield: 120lbs per 100 foot row.
Fruit: Dark green pods with white seeds and stringless.
Comments: No staking needed. May inoculate with a nitrogen fixing bacteria prior to sowing for better yield. Sow after the last spring frost. Plant successively every 2 weeks until 2 months before frost for a continuous crop. Shallow cultivation. Fertilize when 6-8 inches tall and just before bloom. Keep well-watered. Bush matures faster than pole varieties but pole varieties are more productive. Do not work when foliage is wet. Harvest prior to maturity when beans are succulent. Keep beans picked or plants will stop producing. Disease resistant to BCMV and tolerates NY 15. Low in fiber, slow seed development. Blue Lake flavor, vigor. Does not need staking.

These are the best green beans I have ever grown! They freeze well and are excellent fresh from the garden. Even my husband who doesn't particularily like fresh green beans couldn't get enough of them! I will definately be growing these in years to come!
