Product Details
Zones: 4 - 9 (-20° F.) protect in areas below -20 F. Height: 15-20 in Spacing: 12 - 18" Depth: plant with the crown just at soil surface Spread: 15-20 in Sun/Shade: full sun to partial shade Color: purple, lavender Foliage: Gray-green almost white when young, evergreen needle-like, 1 1/2" long, 1/4" wide Blooms: mid summer into early fall
| Comments: Not only is this perennial indispensable for its strong fragrance but it is a lovely component for the garden. The neat mounds can be used as low hedges, edges for a border, interplanted amongst other perennials in a flower bed and it is very attractive in a container. Lavender has been a garden favorite for years and the flowers can be cut to dry for fragrancing at ohome. This is one of the most durable available and asks only for hot summer sun and a well drained site out of wind. Thrives in baking hot situations where many other plants will not grow. For the first few months they dident grow at all and I thought they were goners. Its July now, and they look healthy and I expect them to start filling in next summer! - Monday, June 06, 2011 Almost Gave Up Reviewed By: Sarah (Little Rock, AR) I purchased one of these plants last year and it grew every more straggly as the summer wore on. In early spring 2011, I pulled up what I thought was a dead, brown twig and moved it to a different pot toward the back of the balcony and left it alone to finish dying.
Surprise!! This little lovely has greened up wonderfully and looks as if it might actually bloom this year. I will definitely purchase another couple next year. - Monday, January 03, 2011 wonderful Reviewed By: jacque (Manti, UT) These plants have done extremely well. They look like death when they come out of the box, but after just one summer season, they are bigger and bulkier and flowering more prolifically than the lavender that I bought at a local nursery. I will order more! Read More Reviews
