An impressive focal point for any yard with its glorious froth of rose-pink flowers to welcome springtime. Blossoms are followed by glossy dark green, serrated leaves and shiny ebony fruit in late summer. Grows 20-40 ft. tall with a graceful weeping habit. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Potted plants. Zones 4-8.

Fruit: The fruit that develops later in the season is ornamentally insignificant. Squirrels and other small mammals are the only ones interested.
Comments: Floriferous nature with a graceful weeping habit. Spectacular sight each spring as a multitude of pink buds open up to 1" diameter blooms in a soft pink shade. The cascading drooping branches create a gentle sway in the breeze for a soothing affect all summer long. Be sure to plant in an area where you will not have to worry about pedestrians or vehicles crossing underneath the canopy of branches. An underplanting of bulbs, perennials or small shrubs can add a nice touch to the already spectacular scene.
