Reviewed By: Alison (Ithaca, NY) These are just made of wax paper! If I had known I would have saved $12.00, by going to the dollar store and buying a roll of wax paper, then folding squares of it over a metal bowl and heating it with a hairdryer - not only was it disappointing to discover the lame material that these are made of, but about 3 out of the 19 I received were lopsided so that only about 3/4 of the base could be secured under earth - these are just going to blow away :-( - Sunday, January 10, 2010hotcaps Reviewed By: Ray (59864, Montana) I don't think you can have a nice garden without hotcaps. We garden in the north and I am not sure how many generations of our family has used hotcaps but I know I use them just like my mother and both my grandmothers did. - Sunday, May 17, 2009Hot Kaps are a Necessity Reviewed By: Diann (Brush, Colorado ) I hadn't planted a garden in a several years but wouldn't think of staring one without hotcaps. On the windy eastern plains they are a must. My local garden center said they hadn't seen them in several years. I knew I could depend on Gurney's to have them and they did. I put soil around the lip to keep them in place and at the price I'm glad to know that some are reusing for an additional year. They just give the seedling that little extra protection that is so necessary. Read More Reviews |
