Whether it’s the vibrant color or the funnel- shaped blooms, one thing is for sure, hummingbirds love this vine! Blooms from midsummer to frost in full sun. Will climb to 20-30 ft. long if given a suitable support. Potted. Zones 4-9.

Spacing: 6-8 feet
Depth: Plant so top of root ball is even with the soil surface
Spread: 6-8'
Sun/Shade: Full sun
Color: Dark orange (salmon-red)
Foliage: Dark green compound leaf-opposite 7-11 leaflets. Climbs by means of root like holdfasts.
Blooms: Early summer to frost
Comments: Mix peat moss, compost, or well-rotted manure deeply into the soil. Cut back to within a few inches of the ground after planting. In late winter-early spring, prune back all shoots of previous year's growth to within 2-3 inches of their bases. Large, prolific blooms that attract hummingbirds. Clinging vine that is good to use on rough surfaces such as brick, stucco, or a trellis. Not for use on wooden structures. Flowers and foliage may cause dermatitis if handled. May take 3 years to bloom.

GORGEOUS vine

We love our Trumpet Vine. When I hear people talk about it being so invasive, I think they must not live in Ohio. Ours isn't invasive at all. I think the winters here must keep it from going crazy, although we don't have it next to our house. It has gorgoeous flowers on it and we have hummingbirds in the summer that seem to love the orange blossoms. We have it trained to climb up an old trellis and have buried both of our dogs under it as it's my very favorite bush!

This trumpet vine is spectacular, virogous and attracts hummers. It can be invasive and its description ought to warn purchasers to locate it where they want it and to keep it trimmed back and clip or mow over the runners/shoots. Great plant.
