| Comments: Pie cherry. Fruit produces clear juice. Fruit is firm enough to hold shape during canning. Standard for pie cherries. Fruit has a rich, tart, and tangy flavor. Tree requires good drainage and aeration. Hardy to -40 degrees F. Sour and bush cherries will tolerate heavier soils. Cherries do not like wet feet. Do not soak trees for over 24 hours prior to planting. If fertilizing when planting, only use a slow release fertilizer.
