Planted in partial shade, good natural humus/moisture suitable to azaleas near the lake. Both are thriving and more than doubled in size (other azaleas and rhododendrons like the setting too). Trillium and woodpoppies (from Gurney's) like the same area, as well as hellebores, wild ferns, etc.  -  Thursday, July 22, 2010 Azalea Reviewed By: Jennie (New Bern, NC) I do not recommend getting this plant if you mulch with rocks...it does not like it at all!! It is not thriving well in areas where I have rocks, but does fine in other spots.
