(Bolingbrook, Illinois) I also purchased two plants, just because I was skeptical, but I had always wanted sweet pea in my garden. I planted them late in the spring, and they didn't flourish that year. I didn't think they would survive the winter, but to my surprise they came back in full force, and they flower for the greater part of the summer and fall, and yes it's definitely hard at times to control the extent of their spread. - Tuesday, May 04, 2010Prolific Reviewed By: Ally (Ancram, NY) I received two small potted sweet pea plants last year...i figured they would grow up my trellis. They have gone beyond that, have taken up most of my small garden......I don't know what to do with them now to keep them under control...definitely nice for a quick fix in a bare garden etc, though... - Wednesday, March 17, 2010Sweet in appearance only Reviewed By: Cindy Duhigg (St. Louis, MO) I received two of these plants, two years ago. They are a wonderful ground cover, and have already spread to fill a steep slope with pretty flowering vines all summer. But don't expect that sweet pea aroma -- this variety is completely scent-free. |
