Product review for Miragreen Shell Peas Overall Rating: ![]() Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers Sort Reviews: Newest | Oldest | Highest Rating | Lowest Rating :: Viewing page 1 of 2 - Friday, May 07, 2010not even in the ground yet! Reviewed By: Laura (Douglas, wyoming) I used a seed starter tray thinking that these would grow a little slower and knowing how cold it still was outside. It is still cold outside and in the 2 weeks since I planted the seeds, most of the plants are now close to 1 1/2 feet tall (pretty big when they are still inside!!). I havent even planted these outside yet but if they are growing this well inside, I cant even imagine how well they will do outside! - Saturday, June 12, 2010Awesome Reviewed By: Lori (Lancaster, PA) We chose this Miragreen variety because of the recommendation to support the vines. That really works and makes for effortless picking. The pods were absolutely gorgeous, consistently producing 9-11 peas per pod...and the taste is sweet and delicious. We had a bad wind and hail storm on Memorial Day which severely damaged the stems and developing pods. So we won't get to see how long they would have produced, but will definitely try again next year! - Wednesday, June 23, 2010About Miragreen Peas Reviewed By: Frederick G (Columbia Falls, Montana) Planted 15' of Miragreen peas along the south wall of my garage in Mid-April with a 4' poultry netting for support. Also planted 3' of another type of pea. As of 23 June 2010, the Miragreen pea vines are growing beyond the 4' top of the netting with a few flowers beginning to open. The other pea vines are nearing 3' tall with lots of flowers and pods developing. This is an experiment to see which peas I will grow next year. Hopefully the Miragreen peas will produce all summer as advertised. I will do another review when results are in. - Friday, July 09, 2010Update Reviewed By: Frederick G (Columbia Falls, Montana) My Miragreen pea vines are now 7 feet high (3' above my 4' poultry netting) and still growing taller with an unbelievable number of pods. The pods start at 2 1/2' and there are hundreds of pods. New flowers and pods are developing each day. One thing for sure; I will not have to bend over to pick peas when they are mature. Hope they taste good but it will be at least one more week before picking the lower ones. Next year I will add 2' to the top of the poultry netting. - Tuesday, July 27, 2010Miragreen peas Reviewed By: Jeff K (Corry, PA) Miragreen peas were about 4-5 ft.tall with extra long, full pods. They have an excellent flavor and freeze well. The flavor after freezing still is like fresh-picked. However, I didn't find that they produced for any longer than most peas. I only got about 3 weeks of practical production from the plants. They didn't seem to hold up from the stress of picking. |
