Keep in mind that by doing a little research, this plant thrives in Zones 9-11. SD or South Dakota by my map shows mostly Zone 4. Do not try to grow lemongrass in zone 4 in a pot. This plant is great and grows well outside. - Tuesday, May 03, 2011Lemon Grass Reviewed By: Chris Pierce (Shoreview, MN) My Lemon Grass arrived in a tiny pot and looking green and pretty. I repotted them and overwatered them and they are looking very nice. I was so worried I killed them not realizing at first I messed up in the drainage. But, they were tough! I'm so excited to have them in the pots on the patio and of course in my stews! Yum! - Wednesday, May 27, 2009Lemon Grass Issue Reviewed By: Kendra (McLaughlin, SD) I recently purchased and received 2 lemon grass plants. I planted them in a pot the day they were received. A day later, good. Two days later, yellowing of the leaves. Three days later all leaves were yellow, starting to brown and dry at the ends and it was completely wilted. I gave these plants 7 more days, and no revival, so I removed them from my pots on Memorial day but couldn't call Gurney's for replacement until Wednesday. The customer service representative I spoke with was snooty and treated me as though I were stupid. She haughtily informed me that I didn't give them enough of a chance to grow in their new soil and that I should have just left them alone. With my insistence, they are reshipping two more lemon grass plants so I can try again. I'll see what happens this time. |
