Product review for Gurney's® Delight Hybrid Watermelon Overall Rating: ![]() Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers Sort Reviews: Newest | Oldest | Highest Rating | Lowest Rating :: Viewing page 1 of 3 - Monday, October 17, 2011The best seedless Reviewed By: Chuck Yaniko Jr. (Ironton, Ohio) I have grown these for about 10 years. The are not the largest seedless watermelon, they run 10 to 20 lbs, but they are absolutely the best tasting and the yields are good. All seedless melons take extra care to get good germination rates. Strt them a little earlier as they are slow starters, but they come one well after transplanting. I never direct seed. - Wednesday, July 27, 2011Great! Reviewed By: Rebecca Wilcoxon (Gallipolis, oh) I bought these seeds because I couldn't imagine growing a bunch of seeded watermelons that I would not like to eat and we planted them outdoors because I hadn't read the negative reviews. Every seed germinated and I have several watermelons on each plant! The largest one is not even quite the size of a volleyball so far. I am hoping to eat my first watermelon in just a few days! O.k., maybe I'm rushing it! - Saturday, May 15, 2010need hot temp Reviewed By: joebloe (green, nc) need to keep seeds and plants at 80 degrees day and night until they get 2' long seedless water melons are tuff to grow i drect plant second week in june - Wednesday, April 28, 2010Seeds would not germinate Reviewed By: Greg Kulus (Blair, Ne) We had no luck with these seeds, none would germinate for us - Thursday, April 15, 2010apprehensive Reviewed By: Vicky (Shawnee, Kansas) I was apprehensive about ordering these after so many negative reviews, but I really wanted my kids to try growing the seedless watermelons they love, so I took a chance. As we opened the packet of ten seeds, only nine were enclosed-which made me even more apprehensive... My daughter planted all nine. It is now 5 days later....7 out of the 9 seeds have germinated and are looking great. I'm pretty happy considering some reviews said they couldn't get half their seeds to germinate. I'm starting to be more optimistic about our seedless watermelon's as we appear to be off to a really good start. |
