Even without proper hardening, these melons (along with Crimson Sensation hybrids) took to the less-than-ideal soil like a terrier with vines shooting everywhere with large healthy leaves and flowers. Every plant is baring melons which are growing vigorously. Using Fiskar soaker hoses (we're in a drought here) has certainly helped, I'm sure. Overall, I'm very happy with these seeds from Gurney's! - Saturday, February 23, 2008Crimson Sweet Watermelon Reviewed By: Tom Sheehan (Sherrill, Iowa) I have ordered these melons a couple of years now. They have been the sweetest watermelons in which I have eaten and so full of flavor! I have family members already asking about them so I thought that I had better get my order in! - Friday, July 09, 2010Kept on growing! Reviewed By: Heather (Houston, TX) I planted these in March in less-than-ideal soil. We got several watermelons all summer long. It was always a fun surprise to discover yet another swelling after we thought the season was over! They practically dissolve in your mouth they are so sweet and juicy. These vines withstood all my first-time gardening mishaps and a terrible drought without a hint of trouble. - Sunday, July 11, 2010Never agian Reviewed By: Adam (alden, iowa) Made it to 2" stopped growing didn't die but didn't get bigger. |
