100 pounds
Reviewed By: K. Smith (Hayden, Idaho)
I planted seeds that were a year old because my daughter didn't use all of them the year before. I had great germination by planting indoors early, planted a 50' row. With a short growing season in the Pacific Northwest, I still got over 100 pounds of beans. They are best when picked young, and need to be stringed before cooking or canning. They are delicious!

My favorite for flavor
Reviewed By: Mary D Thorpe (Van Etten, NY)
I love the flavor of Kentucky Wonder best of all the green beans, but have found variablity among varities offered by different seed companies. A hint for getting your beans off to a good start in the spring, when the weather can turn cold on you: start the seeds germinating between damp paper towels indoors in a warm spot. When you see the beans swell and the little roots start to poke out from between the cotyledons, then plant them and they will take right off without rotting in the soil. I save plastic take out containers for little mini-seed starter cases, labeled on tape on the outside.

Best Beans

These beans are the best, some are stringy yes but cooked up we have so many compliments that they are the best beans ever eaten , , grow these every year, can them and eat them fresh. We also dry some of the pods out and have seeds for next year,, always plentiful harvest
