Purchases 3 years ago and each year get more and more strawberries. They Freeze very well and have a great taste. I cover them each winter with straw and uncover them in spring. I am very satisfied with this product. We had some snow & sleet in May and it didn't faze the plants. Honeoye turned out to be a GREAT choice for our area. The flavor is wonderful and the plants grew easily. I personally have tasted 4 other varieties in the field u-picking. The deep red color, juiciness and a flavor that visitors from our state and farther remark as the best they have ever tasted . 100 quarts a year picked to process(frozen and jam) and eat with shortcakes attest to my families satisfaction. The highlight of our june garden chores is vistiting to pick these delicious berries . Actually considered a "Heretage berry today" the history goes back to the 1930's.
