So pleased!

I have ordered from other online nurseries in the past and the standard I was used to from them pales in comparison to what I got from gurney's. This peach tree arrived so alive, I did not even need to do the "scratch test." Word of advice to all you potential buyers: you will need a gigantic hole prepared for these roots!! I planted it (with gurney's fruit tree fertilizer and time release fertilizer tablets) and within 2 days I had green leaf buds on every branch and now, a week later it looks like all the other trees that were here all winter, tiny green sprouts all over the place. I am very, very pleased and will definately order a yellow peach from gurney's asap. Thank you so much for raising the bar on mail-order plants gurney's!

I've had my Belle of Georgia tree for a year. My little tree is now loaded with peaches. I expected the tree to delay a few years before producing fruit, but it has proven me wrong. Pictures available at http://plantsbytbird.blogspot.com/2012/04/peach-tree-fruitlets.

Delicious and has proven itself

This peach is an heirloom peach coming from the 1880's. It is a sweet and juicy peach that others are measured against. I grew up craving peaches when Belle of Georgia peach came in and gorged myself on the delicious peaches. It is still the queen. It does not ship well and is its only problem. If you want a peach that you know is great then why not the peach that set the standards. I still maintain that it is better then the newer varieties. I have planted two and they are growing nicely.
